Updating dining room chairs the internet s premier driver updating

Thanks for reading and please comment with your thoughts.

When I shared my cerused dining table makeover yesterday, I had several people comment and say that their own dining table needed a bit of an update as well.

Place padding on the chair and then cut in details you may have missed.

Make sure there is enough overhang to go over the side of the chair, you can always cut excess off later.

Leave plenty of room around the corners and legs for folding in.

You will probably need to cut some of the batting off to get the fabric to fold properly before hammering in the upholstery tacks.

I’m thrilled with how all of this turned out and so was my client. After the glue has dried (usually just a few minutes), flip the chair over and staple the overhanging batting to the bottom of the chair seat.Again, use the old fabric as the template to cut the new fabric.A coat of primer will help paint better adhere to chairs. When the primer is dry, add your first coat of paint (we used Mophead Black, Benjamin Moore).
